Hungarian is Hungary's official language. It's recognized by the European Union as one of the Uralic languages with the most number of speakers (notably, over 13 million). Besides the Hungarians, its other speakers are the residents of present-day Slovakia, Transylvania, Ukraine, Croatia, and Serbia.
Because its words are rare and unique, the language can be challenging to learn. Most people don't bother to learn it for this reason. However, if one has interests in Hungary or is planning to engage in business activities there, it can help them communicate effectively. In the country, only a few people speak English.
