LeoVegas Gaming Group, a leading online live casino and sports betting company, has obtained a gaming license in Germany. The German license is a significant milestone for the live casino operator, given the numerous challenges the company has faced in recent years.

Leo Vegas Gets the Green Light to Launch in Germany

With this new license from Gemeinsamen Glücksspielbehörde (GGL), LVSports and LeoVegas will provide their gaming services to customers in all 16 states across Germany. The company has been successful in obtaining gaming licenses in various regulated markets worldwide, and this new license is a testament to its commitment to expanding its operations globally.

The new accreditation allows LeoVegas Group to operate in the densely populated German iGaming market, considered one of the most attractive in Europe. The multi-award-winning gambling company will offer its extensive range of online live casino games and sports betting services to German punters.

Providing High-Level Customer Protection

As expected, LeoVegas was quick to brag about the new development. The company’s CEO, Gustaf Hagman, said the new license marks a significant milestone for the company and reiterated LeoVegas’ dedication to providing its German customers with the best possible gaming experience while complying with local regulations.

"With our track record of regulated markets, we will ensure the greatest iGaming experience with a high level of consumer protection," the CEO said.

In July 2021, Gemarny introduced new online gambling regulations to make the online gaming industry more transparent and safer for players. As a result, online live casinos and sportsbooks had to apply for new gaming licenses. For LeoVegas, securing a new regulatory environment and license is a big achievement, especially in a highly secure and populated market like Germany. It’s a testament to the company's commitment to responsible gaming practices and ability to adapt to changing iGaming market conditions.

The licensing will give the company the much-needed boost, especially now that LeoVegas posted an operating loss in the last quarter of 2022.
