Pennsylvania has consistently featured on national headlines after it changed its stance towards gaming. The need to legalize gambling is a perception that is shared by legislators and citizens alike. In light of these developments, the state officially set the record straight by legalizing video gambling terminals (VGTs).
From the look of things, the illegal gaming industry will soon be in the state's history books. The groundbreaking of the Live! Casino Pittsburgh played a vital role in the state's gaming revolution. Besides its failed initial launch earlier, it is expected to open its doors in the summer of 2020.
Viewed mainly as a mini-casino that has all it takes to revitalize the state's online gaming, this facility is also big enough to be labeled as a risky investment. This projected will cost close to $148 million during its construction. It is, however, expected to generate $188 million in annual revenue.
Owned by a group of Maryland-based Cordish Companies, this casino was officially licensed for a whopping $40 million and received a category four license in July of 2018. And shortly after the permit was awarded, Hempfield officials were served with permit documents and technical plans, before they finally okayed its development.
The property is touted to feature several entertainment and dining areas that will complement the expansive gaming area. There will be a level two sportsbook facility and a Sports & Social Steel City. Like any other category four casinos, the Live! Casino Pittsburgh will have 35 table games and 750 slots game variants.
The Sports & Social City is touted to be the casino's best dining options. This is undoubtedly a one-of-a-kind social lounge and gaming venue. It is poised to shower guests with an iconic sports fan experience, thanks to some features ranging from the 45-foot LED screen, the state-of-the-art AV technology to a variety of social games.
The casino's floor plan is a testament to the fact that the Live! Casino Pittsburgh is a product of a well-thought process. Table games will be located at the center of the gaming lobby. Slots machines, on the other hand, will be situated all over the surrounding space.
There is a bar on the casino lobby on the left. There is also a high-limit area on the left for high rollers. Away from the casino, the second floor features a banquet hall, a sports bar, and a night club. This floor is furnished with minibars, a bowling alley, and a golfing area.
