LeoVegas Group, a tier-one live casino operator, has announced a return to the Dutch iGaming market. This was after the company rolled out its new Dutch-facing gaming site, LeoVegas.nl.

According to the operator, the new site will offer RNG casino games and live dealer titles from leading content distributors, with some of these games provided by Dutch-speaking live dealers. The website will also offer customers in the Netherlands with sports betting services.

In June this year, LeoVegas Group announced that it had secured a KSA (Kansspelautoriteit) license. While receiving the approval to offer casino games and sports betting services, the company promised to launch its services in the second half of the year.

Commenting on the new market entry, Gustaf Hagman, CEO of LeoVegas Group, remarked:

“The King of Casino is finally home in the Orange Kingdom! I am delighted that we are taking steps into the Dutch market. The combination of a well known brand, our platform, and cutting-edge content will make LeoVegas.nl a contender for the leader's jersey in the Dutch iGaming market.”

Leo Vegas previously operated in the Netherlands before the country regulated its online gambling market. The country re-regulated its online gambling market on October 1, 2021, clearing the way for players to play casino games and bet on sports legally. However, a day before the launch, LeoVegas announced that it would be halting its activities in the country. The idea was to secure the Netherlands Gaming Authority license after the market launch.

Live casinos and sportsbooks found providing gambling services without a license will face disciplinary action from the regulator. Guilty parties may also be denied future license applications in the Netherlands.

But it has not been a smooth ride for LeoVegas in the Dutch market. The company had to wait longer than expected to obtain the license. The operator stated in August 2022 that it wanted to resume operations in the country by the fall of 2022.
