Three Card Poker is a casino card game that has gained in popularity over the years. As its name implies, the game is played with three cards dealt from a standard 52 card deck. The goal of the game is to make the best possible five card poker hand out of the three cards. The game is played against the dealer and players compete to make the best poker hand.
The game starts with each player being dealt three cards face down. The players then decide if they want to stay in the game or fold. If a player folds, they forfeit their ante bet and any other bets placed. If the player stays in the game, they can either make a Play bet or an Ante bet, or both. The Play bet is twice the size of the ante bet, and the player is making the bet because they think they can make a better hand than the dealer, regardless of the dealer’s hand.
After the player has made their bet, the dealer will reveal their three cards. The dealer must qualify with a queen-high hand to play. If the dealer does not qualify, the player's ante bet is paid even money and the play bet is returned. If the dealer does qualify, then the player’s hand is compared to the dealers. If the player’s hand is better, the player is paid on both the ante and play bets. If the dealer’s hand is better, the player loses both bets. If it’s a tie, the player’s bet is pushed.
