Crazy Time is Evolution's money wheel game show: a 54-segment wheel with four number bets (1, 2, 5 and 10) and four bonus games (Coin Flip, Cash Hunt, Pachinko and Crazy Time). A Top Slot above the wheel spins with the main wheel and assigns random multipliers, up to 50x, to bet spots. This guide shows what each common strategy does to your results, using only the odds Evolution publishes.
What a strategy can and cannot change
Evolution states that each spin is independent and that past statistics do not predict future outcomes. The results board in the game is a record of what happened, so a bonus game that has not landed for 40 spins is no more likely on the next one. Betting on what seems overdue is the gambler's fallacy.
The theoretical RTP sits between 94.41% and 96.08% depending on the bet spot. Over many spins, $100 staked returns between $94.41 and $96.08 on average, whatever pattern you follow. A strategy can change three things: which spots you cover, how large each stake is compared to your budget, and when you stop.
How often bonus rounds come up
Evolution gives the chance of landing a bonus round as 1 in 6 per spin. On a 54-segment wheel, that means 9 segments carry a bonus game and 45 carry a number. The exact split between 1, 2, 5, 10 and each bonus game is listed in the game's help screen, together with the RTP for each spot. Read it before you choose a plan, because it tells you how often each of your bets wins.
| Spins played | Chance of at least one bonus round | Chance of none |
|---|---|---|
| 6 | 66.5% | 33.5% |
| 10 | 83.8% | 16.2% |
| 20 | 97.4% | 2.6% |
| 30 | 99.6% | 0.4% |
These figures are for any bonus game. Each single bonus game covers only part of the 9 bonus segments, so a run without your chosen bonus is longer and more common. You also only take part in a bonus game if you had a bet on that spot when the wheel landed on it. Watching is open to everyone, but winning needs the bet.
Number bets, bonus bets or a mix
Most Crazy Time strategies are a version of one of three spreads. None of them changes the long-run return. They differ in how often you win and how large the swings are.
Numbers only
Number segments make up 45 of the 54, so number bets win far more often than bonus bets. The help screen shows how many segments each number holds. The payouts are small, so a session moves slowly and the house edge drains the budget gradually. You miss every bonus round, including the rare large ones.
Bonus games only
Covering the four bonus spots means you play every bonus round, about 1 spin in 6, and lose your whole stake on the other 5 in 6. Losing runs of 10–20 spins are normal, as the table above shows. Pachinko can pay up to 10,000x and the Crazy Time bonus up to 20,000x, but most bonus results are far smaller. This is the most volatile way to play.
A mix, or every spot
Spreading stakes over numbers and bonus games evens out the swings. Covering all eight spots means some bet wins on every spin, but not your total stake. With $1 on each spot, you stake $8 a spin, and even at the top RTP of 96.08% the expected return is about $7.69. A win on every spin can hide that the session is losing money, so track your balance against the starting budget.
Stake size and stop points
Size each stake to the slowest part of your plan. If you bet on bonus games, assume a run of 20 spins without a bonus round and check that your budget survives it. With a $100 budget, $1 on each of the four bonus spots costs $80 over 20 spins, which is too much. $0.25 per spot costs $20, leaving room for the long runs. The game's listed minimum bet is $0.10.
Keep the stake the same from spin to spin. Raising it after a loss to win it back, as in the Martingale, runs into the budget or the table maximum during the long losing runs this game produces. Flat betting is the simplest fixed rule. Do not raise the stake because the Top Slot lit up your spot: the multiplier is random and does not change the chance of the wheel landing there.
Set a loss limit and a time limit before the first spin, and decide in advance whether a large bonus win ends the session. Most licensed casinos let you set deposit, loss and session limits in your account. If the game stops being fun, see our responsible gaming page.
Crazy Time and casino bonuses
Many casinos exclude game shows from bonus wagering or count only part of each bet. Check the game contribution list in the bonus terms before you play Crazy Time with bonus funds.
