Gambling in Mexico is governed by the 1947 Federal Law on Games and Draws and its 2004 Regulation. SEGOB's Dirección General de Juegos y Sorteos grants permits, and online casinos operate under the permits of licensed companies. SEGOB has prepared a reform of the 1947 law that would update the rules for online gambling.
