Side bets
Every side bet returns less than the main hand. They settle on their own, so they add swings without changing the main hand's edge.

Basic strategy
For six to eight decks, dealer stands on soft 17, double after split allowed and no surrender. Read your hand down the left and the dealer's up card across the top.
Basic strategy is the lowest-cost way to play each hand. It does not beat the house, but every departure from it raises the edge you pay.
