Austrian Lotteries and Pragmatic Play Open a Live Casino Studio in Vienna

Austrian Lotteries (Österreichische Lotterien) and Pragmatic Play opened a live casino studio in Vienna in April 2025. The tables stream to win2day, the online platform of Austrian Lotteries and the only online casino licensed in Austria.

What the studio offers

According to the launch announcement, the studio covers about 400 square metres and opened with live blackjack, live roulette and Crazy Prater Rad, a money-wheel game show named after the Prater amusement park. The companies described it as the first game show presented in German.

Pragmatic Play had already supplied slots to win2day since May 2023. The studio extends that partnership to live dealer games, with German-speaking dealers working from Vienna instead of a studio abroad.

Jobs and the people behind it

The companies reported 80 jobs at launch, with up to 150 full-time roles planned. Austrian Lotteries director general Erwin van Lambaart and win2day managing director Georg Wawer presented the studio as part of the company's plan to keep players on the licensed platform instead of unlicensed sites.

Where it fits

Most live casino studios serve many operators from one site, often in Latvia, Romania or Malta. A studio built for one national licence holder is rarer. For other studios and what they stream, see our live casino studios overview.
