Pai Gow is a Chinese game that has been popular throughout the world since the 19th century. In Honduras, a popular version of the game involves seven players and a dealer, gathered around a Pai Gow table. The players are dealt four tiles each, with the goal of making two hands out of the four tiles. The hands must be a higher ranking two-tile hand (known as the high hand) and a lower ranking two-tile hand (known as the low hand). The dealer also makes two hands from his four tiles.
To win, the players must beat both the dealer's hands, with the high hand beating the dealer's high hand, and the low hand beating the dealer's low hand. If the player fails to beat both of the dealer's hands, he or she loses the game. If the player beats both of the dealer's hands, the player will win even money on the bet.
