How to Play Punto Banco
The game of Punto Banco is easy to learn and enjoyable to play. The game begins with the player placing a bet on either the ‘punto’ (player) or the ‘banco’ (banker). Two cards are then dealt to both the player and the banker. The player’s card’s total should be higher than the banker’s, and if it is not, they can choose to continue playing or to stand. The total of the player’s and banker’s cards will then be calculated to determine the winner.
If the total of the two cards is less than or equal to five, the player is required to draw a third card to try and get a total of more than five. If the total of the two cards is six or seven, the player can choose to stand or draw a third card. And if the total of the two cards is eight or nine, the player is not required to draw a third card and is declared a winner.
The banker’s rules are slightly different and depend on the player’s total. If the player has a total of two or three, the banker draws a third card; if the player has a total of four or five, the banker can choose to draw a third card or stand; and if the player has a total of six or seven, the banker must stand.
