Punto Banco, also known as Baccarat, is an incredibly popular casino card game. It is easy to learn and understand, and is a great way for new players to learn the ropes of live casino gaming. The goal of Punto Banco is to bet on either the Player or the Banker hand. The Player and Banker hands are dealt two cards each, and the one with the highest total value wins, with a maximum of nine points.
The Player hand is given two cards face up, and the Banker hand is given two cards face down. After all cards are dealt, the Player and Banker hands are compared to determine the winner. If the Player hand has a total value of eight or nine, it is known as a ānaturalā and it automatically wins. If the Player and Banker hands both have the same score, it is a tie.
In Punto Banco, the suits of the cards do not matter and only the point value matters. Ace cards are worth one point, 2-9 cards are worth their face value, and 10 and face cards are worth zero points. When the total value of the hand exceeds nine, only the last digit is counted. For example, a 20-point hand is worth zero.
