The game of Craps is played on a table with a series of bets available in two categories: “pass” or “don’t pass.” Players can place their bets on the “pass” line before the come out roll or the first roll of the dice. The “don’t pass” line allows players to wager on not having a specific combination of dice.
After the come out roll, the player can then place their bets on the “come” or “don’t come” line. This allows the player to wager on that specific roll and any subsequent roll. The “pass” and “don’t pass” line bets can also be increased at this time.
The game of Craps also offers a wide range of side bets such as “hardways” and “one-roll” bets. The “hardways” bet predicts that the player will roll a specific combination of dice, such as a pair of fours or a pair of sixes. The “one-roll” bets predict the outcome of a single roll.
Once the bets have been placed, the player rolls the dice and the outcome of the roll determines the winnings or losses. If the player rolls a seven or eleven the “pass” line bet wins, while a two, three or twelve results in a “don’t pass” line bet winning. Any other number results in a “point” which must be rolled again before a seven is rolled in order for the bet to win.
If the player rolls a seven before rolling the “point” then the “pass” and “come” bets lose and the “don’t pass” and “don’t come” bets win. If the “point” is rolled before a seven, then the “pass” and “come” bets win and the “don’t pass” and “don’t come” bets lose.
