Baccarat is a popular card game found in El Salvador's live casinos. The game is typically played between two to four players and a casino dealer. The objective of the game is to total nine points or as close to nine points as possible with the two cards dealt. Aces are worth one point, face cards (jack, queen, king) are worth zero points, and other cards are worth as their face value (2 is worth two points, 4 is worth four points, and so on). In El Salvador's live casinos, there are two varieties of Baccarat that can be played.
The first is Punto Banco, which is a variant of Baccarat that is played with eight decks. Players have three betting options: Banker (Banco), Player (Punto), or Tie (Egalite). The Banker stands in for the casino and the Player stands in for each individual player.
The second is Chemin De Fer, which is another variant of Baccarat and is usually played between two to seven players. In this variant, players compete against each other instead of against the Banker. Also, different players may be designated as bankers in subsequent turns to play against the other punters.
