Aruba is an island that is part of the Caribbean. It has close ties with the Netherlands and is located north of Venezuela and northwest of Curaçao. The country is 32 kilometers long and 10 kilometers across, in the Northern and Western hemispheres. Aruba is also close to the Caribbean Sea and has beautiful beaches, a rugged coastline, tropical weather, and turquoise waters. These make the country a popular tourist destination.
Dutch and Papiamento are the most important languages spoken on the island, and the largest practiced religion is Catholicism. The cultural mix of the island is European and indigenous Caribbean.
